Medin one of six to receive STAC Collaborative Research Grant

RI_STAC iCubed Assistant Research Professor Dr. Carey Medin was recently awarded over $70,000 by the Rhode Island Science & Technology Advisory Council (STAC) to further her research on Dengue virus. Her award is one of six totaling $445,000 dedicated to different projects at institutions around Rhode Island.

Dr. Medin’s project is titled “Antiviral & immunomodulatory effects of Inter-alpha inhibitors in Dengue infection.” Collaborating with Dr. Medin on the project is Dr. Yow-Pin Lim of ProThera Biologics, Inc. 

According to STAC, “the program is designed to advance research projects that are collaborative across institutions, well positioned to receive follow-on funding and with significant technology development and commercialization potential.” Click here to read the full story.
