Former NTD fellow heads project to study lymphatic filariasis

Smith College research associate and former iCubed Neglected Tropical Diseases Fellow Nils Pilotte is currently leading research on lymphatic filariasis thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Pilotte, who works alongside Gates Professor of Biological Sciences Steven Williams, is studying the detection of parasitic worms that cause the tropical disease.

iCubed first came to know Pilotte in 2012 when he successfully completed the institute’s Neglected Tropical Diseases Workshop.
