Julianne Elofson named "Featured Researcher of the Month" (July 2010)

Julianne spent her time during the TRIAD Summer Fellowship Workshop in the lab with Dr. Loren Fast. Julianne notes that although she came into the workshop with no bench work experience, she left with knowledge of blood isolation procedures, antibody staining and flow cytometry. She also dedicated her time to researching eosinophils and how they can be helpful in developing anti-helminth vaccines.

Julianne says Dr. Fast was great to work with and extremely helpful as a mentor. By working alongside him, she learned a great deal about cytolytic cell immunology along with the steps involved in designing a research project from scratch.

Julianne is continuing her work with Dr. Fast.
